We offer mobile
service for IFR Certifications including Pitot-Static and Transponder
Certifications. Our mobile repair station will come to your hanger
and perform the certification. Now you can have this important FAA
required service completed without the hassle of dropping your aircraft
off or the inconvenience of having to wait around.
IFR
Certification
An IFR Certification is two different tests. One is for your pitot-static
system (altimeter) and the other is for your transponder. This certification
is required by the FAR's if you file IFR in your aircraft at least
every 24 months.
Pitot-Static
Test
This test ensures that your altimeter is reading correct! Is not
just a leak test, like most owners believe. There are several different
tests that are completed to ensure that your altimeter is good working
order. These include tests to ensure that the instrument is reading
accurately, vibration tests to ensure the internal mechanisms are
sound and tests to ensure that your altimeter is giving repeatable
information. We also tests your encoder. This is the devise that
is tied to your transponder and gives ATC your altimeter information.
In today's crowded airspace this is important to be accurate!
Transponder
Tests
How good is your transponder working? The FAA mandates that you
have your transponder certified every 24 months if you fly in airspace
that requires a transponder. In this certification we use state-of-the-art
equipment to check several parts of your transponder, including
its frequency and power output. Even if you don't file IFR, if you
fly within the ADIZ or in airspace that requires a transponder you
MUST have this test done every 24 months!
Field
Repairs
If we find that your aircraft is out of specification for any test
we will offer you the option of our repair services. We maintain
a good selection of the most common parts with transponder and pitot-static
systems. All work is completed and signed-off by an FAA Certified
Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic (A&P). By having the work completed
by a certified mechanic, you can be sure that we will do it right
the first time!
Mobile VOR
Check (for required checks every 30 days)!
We can complete
your required VOR check that is due every 30 days for IFR flight.
Our modern test equipment ensures that your Nav Radio is telling
you the truth! In some cases we can even adjust your Nav Head (instrument
with the VOR needle). This piece of mind check only takes minutes
to complete. Ask us about a discount on this service when performed
at the same time as an IFR Certification!
